Well hi there ladies and gentlemen! It’s been a tough week so far, but hell, you’re over halfway through and the weekend is waiting patiently for you to enjoy the shit out of it! Today I’m here to provide you with a song that will help you push through the last two days of work/school/responsibilities/looking-for-pants-so-that-you-can-answer-the-door-because-the-pizza-man-is-here! Our song today is “Love Game” by Eminem featuring Kendrick Lamar from Eminem’s new album “The Marshall Mathers LP 2”. (Maybe don’t listen to this if you are offended by profanity, but then you probably are on the wrong blog anyways).
The beat sounds like something you hear from “Grease”, with lyrics that would give your grandmother a heart attack. Eminem and Kendrick both do a masterful job at rapping over a cute beat, while describing their misadventures in the game of love. I say misadventures, but when everything from cutting brakes, shooting someone in the head and drowning in a bath tub while hiding from aforementioned grandmother, is included in the song, that may not be the best way to describe it. My personal favorite moments include Eminem listing all of his old flame’s past conquests (getting especially upset when mentioning Kwame Brown) and Kendrick comparing his love to a woman with his desire to kill George Zimmerman (“I want you bad as the head shattered on George Zimmerman, After the Dillinger hit him diligently and killin him, His mouthpiece for a Cadillac emblem).
If this song doesn’t put a twisted little smile on your face, then we clearly have very different senses of humor. If it does, then I hope it gets you through the rest of your week and helps you coast into the weekend. Bon Voyage, sweet reader!
